The dolphins are the megastars here, frolicking on the reels while relaxing sounds are soothing players’ spinning. The developers equipped the game with Medium Volatility, 96.03% return (RTP) and 35 725 CAD maximum prospect, which translates as 357 the total bet (via max stake of 100 CAD).

Personal testers’ opinion about the Aquatic Treasures slot
- Regarding design, the Reno, Nevada, USA – based developing team of Gold Coin Studios followed the motto: less is more, as the symbols and the animations are pretty basic. Don’t get us wrong, and we don’t think this isn’t good. But, see, it is just not good enough to compete with other progressive Studios out there.
- First and foremost, this is not a gainful machine. What is the use of offering a large betting opportunity if the game has such a weak maximum win expectancy? Second, the paytable is cheap for a 20-liner (all the symbols remunerate for 5OAK between 37.5x and 4x the total bet). O Man, that is stingy in every respect!
- For example, another Microgaming’s 20-liner – Lucky Zodiac slot (2015) offers 200x the total bet payout for 5OAK Scatters and 150x the total bet, respectively, for Wilds. It is also a medium variance video slot, but with 1300x the total bet max prospect.
- And we don’t want to sound like a commercial for this or another slot, simply want to prove our point – these treasures are far from first-class, even not second-class! It is almost like the little circus train puffing up the hill, chattering: ‘I think I can! I think I can!’ and ‘I thought I could!’ when going down the hill.
- The hit frequency in the game is decent at near 33%, but what is the use if you only get meagre payouts or losses (payouts under the bet) throughout the base game? Equally often, Scatter teasers and Wilds that don’t make combinations can come your way, so instead of relaxed, you became tired eventually. Occasionally (maybe once in 50 spins), you will get in the main game some tolerable win (15x to 35x the total bet, which the machine labels itself ‘big win’), but that is still not enough to sustain your balance.
- Waiting for the FS could be lengthy, and their results (like everything else here) are not major. However, during testing, we established: that the bonus round comes statistically around once in 168 spins, and the average results from our sessions were around 49x the total bet.
All in all, the Aquatic Treasure can be a good option for starter spinners. But regular gamblers will be deterred from the whole list of disadvantages, scrimpy paytable and the low payout aptitude. As a result, we are skeptical about using this game for balance increase and inclined to leave neutral advice when it comes to playing with real money and wagering the bonus money.
Bonus Features
- Wild – Dolphin is the wild card, bringing no value on itself but substituting for all symbols and apt to expand whenever drops on the central reels. The full reel expanding feature is active during both base and bonus spins. Getting all 3 middle reels full with Wilds is their plum presentation.
- Free spins – 3+ Scatters (Pearl ornate with Golden Dolphins) will trigger 8 (always) Free Spins, where Expanding Wilds are coming more often. A Re-trigger of 8 extra FS is possible.
- Atypical – Several unusual traits have to be mentioned about this slot:
- The Wild expand function doesn’t contribute to higher wins or doubling; it is only a visual perk.
- Scatters only pay for 3/4/5 OAK on a pay line. So, for example, 3 Scatters on reels 1/4/5 will bring neither cash nor bonus trigger. The worst scenario is Scatters on reels 1/3/5 and Wild reel on reel 4 – you get nada. Just a beautiful serene picture.
- The Scatter Pearl can drop on any reel, but it actually ignites the Free Spins only when it drops on reels 1/2/3.
- The initial number of Free Spins is always8, no matter how many Pearls are achieved.
- The FS round can be retriggered, but there are no Multipliers to bring the wins to a really high level.
- The gamble feature is at your service only once per win.
- Wilds have no value on their own and can drop only on reels 2/3/4.
