NetEnt Company made another release in 2019 (for general use and 2020 for mobile use), aiming to please the Asian comics devotees. The Long Pao slot machine used the same engine that powered the successful Jack Hammer slot (from 2011), which could be called smart and efficient or lazy and redundant (depends on what type of person you are – a glass ‘half full’ or a glass ‘half empty’).

Detailed review about Long Pao Slot

Long PaoThe graphics are pleasant, and the Asian sound effects/melodies, combined with modern Asian pop beats, positively impact the gameplay, enhancing the overall cartoonish design. The last imperial family looks sharp in their traditional outfits, and all you have to hope for is that they are in a generous mood.

The emperor’s robe (translation of Long Pao) machine can grant Sticky Win spins, Free Spins where all wins are tripled, and to top it off, a max payout of 750 000 coins (announced by NetEnt, or calculated – 3000x the total bet – with a max bet of 250 CAD).

This hystory-oriented slot with bright colours and fast-paced gameplay, a 5×3 grid, 25 paylines, 15 individual reels (per cell), a generous RTP of 96.96%, and Medium Volatility (according to the developer, which is contradictory to the Low Variance of the prototype slot) can put you on the edge of your seat.

Personal testers’ opinion about the Long Pao slot

Unfortunately for NetEnt, we are not appreciative of the re-skin practices. Our team sees it as an easy way of deluding the gambling enthusiasts and easy money for a little work and a general lack of inventiveness.

  • Check our opinion on games re-skins, regardless of the software provider, via this link: Happy Riches slot.

Opposite of the original – Jack Hammer, which is still popular, well-received by different category players, and even in demand at some Canadian online casinos, the Long Pao slot we need to mention, is not as well accepted, and even losing its ranking positions as we speak. However, we will try to comment on the slot by putting the reskin aspect aside.

The first thing one will see when launching the game is the paytable – unkind and pitiful. Wilds and Scatters – unpaid, multipliers – only in the Free Spins, and the top symbol – the Emperor, pays only a scanty 40x the total bet for 5OAK.

Regardless of all this, the show stopper here – the Sticky Wins function is kicking off so often (the hit frequency is 25.2%, i.e. every 4th spin brings payout) that somehow the game preserves the balance it is recommendable for bonus wagering.

On the other hand, waiting for the Free Spins can be quite lengthy, plus the rewards there are not always worth it (even with the multiplier x3 on each spin).

  • Waiting for the FS is justified by the 15-individual reels (needed for the Re-spin function) and establishes that you will need 5+ Scatters to activate the bonus spins.
  • The division of funds justifies the insufficient payout in the FS: from the total prize pool of 96.96%, for the main game are set apart 77.26%, and for the Free Spins only 19.70%. This will say that after one well-paid base game round, you can leave your session without waiting for the Free Spins, as the reward there might be disappointing.

Mounting all aspects of the game, we can also recommend it for playing with real money, but then again, you can also play the original slot or any other 25-liners with high returns instead.

Features

  • Wild Long Pao Logo – Replaces any other symbol, other than the Free Spins Scatter, but doesn’t pay a dime.
  • Sticky Wins spin – Whenever a pay combination or 3 Free Spins Scatters land, the symbols in question are held, while the reels re-spin. They will spin again and again as long as new wins are generated. When no more wins are added, all the wins are accumulated and added to your balance.
  • Free Spins – Landing 5 or more Free Spins Scatters will trigger Free Spins. The more Scatters drop, the higher the amount of Free Spins granted, with a maximum of 30. In this special mode, all wins will be tripled.
